Top's and Nikki's cars are Honda Civics..... Gerd's car is a Lancer, Carlo's car is an Altis and Tat's car is an Exalta... Watching movies is one of their fave pastimes.... Top is considered to be the "genius" of the group (hmm...) Tat sometimes acts like a 12 year old kid (?!?!?!?! Hey, Nikki explain this)... One adjective to describe Gerd: VERY FUNNY! (hahahaha!)... Top and Tat are cousins. Their dads are brothers... They live in the areas of Parañaque, Sucat and Alabang... Freestyle loves to hang-out at ATC together... Top also loves to hang-out at ATC with his girlfriend, brother Mikey and daughter Gabby... And lastly...hehehe...THEY'RE ALL GOOD-LOOKING AND FRIENDLY! (FLATTERING BUT TRUE!)!!!!! Freestyle FACTS from Icy Ramirez * Tat- before he took a test for flying school, it was his dream to fly...kaso mukhang ayaw ng tadhana, he failed. - don't know if it's true but they said in a magazine that he is color blind, which has a tendency for him to break the strings. - studied in Ateneo de Davao - musical influences: R&B, Pop & Jazz - the sound engineer * Jinky - workaholic and shopaholic type of person, and she is spoiled.. kasi only girl.. - favorite color: fuschia pink (coz' she glows in this color) and black (para itago ang mga bilbil) - she has the talent to interact and get the attention of the audience. - she discovered her talent in singing when she was in 1st grade. she entered a singing competition and sang "Ako ay Pilipino". it became her outlet in singing. - has a heart of a child. very childish. cute siya. - she has brown eyes but sometimes wear green contacts. - studied in Ateneo de Davao - musical influences- Acid Jazz, Incognito, D'sound, Driza Bone, Brand new Heavies * Top - the heartthrob, the genius behind their wonderful songs, and a graduate from the College of St. Benilde w/ a degree in management - he uses Max Factor foundation during pictorials. - Gabby Suzara, his inspiration and angel. Daughter niya... - he collects robots, kaso nawala na sa TV yung show na yon that he used to watch - if he's not a musician he would probably be doing charity works for our less fortunate children. sabi niya "kung ako lang si Bill Gates wala na tayong problema sa pera" - has a good sense of humor. - hopelessly romantic - loves going to the movies. (ATC) - the cry-baby of the band - musical influences R&B , Pop & jazz * carlo - the unsung heartthrob, and also the "nicest and very cool dude" in the bunch (sabi ni Gerd). he is the one who values friendship & family above all. - he has a talent in drawing or making sketches (nakita cya ng barkada ko na nag drawing) - met a car accident last feb. 10 at alabang... he had a fractured arm. - a scaredy-cat. he even asks Gerd to accompany him at the cr.. - studied in Ateneo de Davao - first member of Freestyle to get married. - musical influences- Yellow Jackets, Weather Report * Gerald - the alaskador, and he's funny too! lahat ng sinasabi niya natatawa ako!! and he is very strict when it comes to attendance during rehearsals. - cool water ang pabango niya! - dream: to be a good musician and to have a nice family. - he's a sweet guy. =) - musical influences - Jazz, Sting, Steely Dan * Nikki - dreaded text mamaw. texting for him is a lifestyle. next to his keyboards his cell phone is his most prized possession. - if not a musician he would be a Pyschologist coz' mahilig cyang makialam sa iniisip ng ibang tao. - his wish: "sana wala nang taong suwapang. there's enough for everyone." - he enjoys the music of Frank Sinatra and other oldies music. - hobbies: surfing the net - pinakamahiyain sa grupo. he shakes when he's about to give his spiel. - from UP Diliman - musical influences- Jazz, Sting, Steely Dan * Freestyle ultimate dream - to perform at the big dome for a solo major concert. - to perform with the MPO * typical band who practice and wrote their songs at their garage in Davao. * Jinky came up with the name "Freestyle". She saw the name somewhere and they decided to use it just that one night that they had a gig coz' they need a name. Then they just stuck with that name. * In Davao they started in 2 venues; at pag-asa bar and at APO view hotel. * the very first original song performed by Freestyle is "I'm gonna luv u" a duet written & sung by Top and Jinky. * they pray before and after their gigs. * at first Jinky, Gerd & Tat was a part of First Circle in Manila. But Tat and Jinky had to go back home to Davao to finish school. So while in Davao they organized themselves as Freestyle. * lahat sila FRIENDLY!!! they are very open with their fans. * Freestyle was formed in Davao city in the second half of 1996. * they have a new manager, Mr. Wyngard Tracy. they are now handled by the RT station. * the 1st members of Freestyle were Tat (lead guitar), Jinky (vocals), Tzuki Garcia (drums) & Jun Masamayor (keyboards). Then they added Carlo Tapia (bass), Top (vocalist/rythm guitar), Gerd (drums) and Obet Luzon (keyboards). Then last year 2000 Nikki joined the group. * the very first gig of Freestyle was at the Penec Bar of Apo View Hotel in Davao. they packed the house with their friends and relatives. * the band mostly performed songs from Incognito & Brand New Heavies. * Before i let you go was the very first original song on the airwaves in Davao. They brought a CD sample to their DJ friends and they helped them (Freestyle) by playing it over and over until they start getting a lot of requests & it went up to local charts. * Their first album is also titled "Freestyle". They finished it within 6 months and it was difficult for them because some of them were still in school and have jobs. * Top and Jinky mostly composed the songs. * hobbies of Freestyle as a band: Eating, watching movies, listening to music, watching other bands. Tat- the band considers Tat as the "MacGyver" ng grupo.. dalhin mo sa kanya lahat ng electronics mong sira, magagawa niya. pero sabi ni Gerd wag lang daw sasakyan. dahil di daw maalaga ng sasakyan c Tat.. * the first tv guesting of Freestyle eh nung D day! dun cla unang lumabas. channel 7. they introduced their album and themselves too...they sang before i let you go.
Freestyle FACTS from Pamee Tupaz Jinky - describes herself as both workaholic and shopaholic.She has only 2 things that she really loves to do... work, work after working she want to spend what she earn in shopping.. Jinky really loves to dance she is very energetic!! hehe... and the best part Jinky really loves to eat! hehe..=)well... Jinky is a very jolly person and has a great voice that's why a lot of people really loves her a lot. Top - Mr.photogenic!! he's not only the heartthrob of the group but also d genius behind d song he loves to eat too..hehe! But one time he got sick?!...ummmm...=( what happened to him?!....well totop is a very friendly person to his fans like us !hehe! well...Top is the most vain in the group hehe...and i describe Top as a sweet and cuddly person that's why a lot of people love him so much!!...and most esp.. people love him because of his KILLER SMILE!!! Gerd - (bionic eyes) hehe... Gerd is the alaskador of the group?! hehe (we all know that ryt?).. hehehe even though he is the alaskador he makes the group happy. Gerd is also very strict in rehersals. nykeess (scary)..hehe! He really laughs a lot (BUNGISNGIS) yan c Gerd! But sometimes if he has a problem he will just stay quiet and alone..uyyyyy!!! anu kaya un Gerd?!!....hehe=) oh well..Gerd is a lovable person not only to his group but most esp he really loves his family and his one and only gf!! uy..... Nikki - MR.SHY GUY!!! on the group! tsk tsk tsk! hehe..when u got the chance to get to know Nikki! grabeh!! he will just smile and laugh at you! with his cute dimples! hehehe..keep it up Nikki! a.k.a aga muhlach dahil sa dimples! hehehe! But you know what?! Nikki has a special talent not only playing the keyboards he is good in dancing!!! bwahahaha!!! go for it!!!! tah tah tah!! Carlo - He is very funny!! it depends in his mood! because sometimes he is very moody! hehe! He is the heartthrob of the group ryt?! (we all know about this?!) hehehe.. not only Top! however Carlo is a very cool dude and he is the one who values friendship and family above all!!! naks nman carlo!!! keep it up!! well...carlo will be a big daddy already! uyy....he is getting married to krisha this coming may in Davao!!don't be sad yung mga fans kay carlo okie?! be happy 4 him..=)well congrats kuya carlo!! good luck sau..hope to stay the same...friendly and funny forever! Tat - the best band leader!!! hehehe...go for it!!!gosh! lot of my friends told me he looks like MICKEY MOUSE! hihihih...but it's true because of his cute ears!!=) at first i thought Tat is masungit but wen u get the chance to know him he's not masungit! he is a good buddy to everyone esp.to his fans! he treat u like his BIG BROTHER.. hehehe! cool...=) he is also a very approachable person..hehe! very nice Tat! keep it up! he's sometimes naughty like a kid! and he loves collecting paper air planes! hehehe... Tat ah......well he's very nice!
